Avira Antivirus Suite features a classic system and data media scanning module, as well as real-time protection against local and internet-based threats (including email). The program allows you to set the priority for the threat analysis process, enabling you to allocate appropriate CPU usage for Avira Antivirus Suite and other running applications.

Real-time protection involves continuously detecting system anomalies, scanning running programs, connected mobile devices, USB keys, and disks, as well as optical discs inserted into drives. The internet protection module integrates with the Windows firewall (only from Windows 7 or higher) and allows you to manage its rules. The program scans downloaded or uploaded files and opened URLs in web browsers, and it also enables the blocking of suspicious IFRAME frames. Internet protection also covers email messages and their attachments, with analysis of IMAP, POP3, and SMTP protocols. It is possible to include information about detected threats in the content of infected emails or attachments.
